Scala, Inc. considers everyone visiting our Website a Prospective Customer, and endeavors to acquire enough contact information to communicate with them, including email address and phone number. Providing this information is on a voluntary basis, but is required for a few features including the Public Discussion Forum and the "Send A Message" system. Declining to volunteer this information will keep you anonymous.
When the email address is volunteered, Scala keeps it private. When it is necessary to put you in touch with our trusted network of Value Added Resellers (VARs) who handle all of our direct End User sales, we use an innovative Web-based Message Board system. Our VARs do not see your email address. Scala does not sell, rent or give its email address list to any other company.
In order to service our Visitors to the fullest, Scala records the number of return visits to our Website. After a certain number of return visits, anonymous Visitors will be prompted to volunteer their email address, so that we may start a discussion. It is not required to volunteer your email address to continue using the Scala Website.
When the Visitor does decide to volunteer contact information, and uses the "long form" located at www.scala.com/contact, all the information from the form, with the exception of the email address, will be visible to the VAR to whom the discussion becomes assigned. All sales enquiries that Scala receives are assigned to VARs in this fashion, unless the enquiry regards becoming a VAR.
Scala makes uses of a Web Browser technology called "persistent cookies" in order to identify return visitors. Cookies are widely used and accepted on the Web, and are critical to the operation of many Websites. Our cookie keeps us from having to ask the Visitor for contact information more than once, and the recorded information cannot be read by any other Website. You may choose to not accept the cookie, through your Web browser settings.
Scala.com is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Again, Scala, Inc. takes your privacy seriously. We also hope we will have the honor of servicing you as one of our Customers.
