The quick service restaurant (QSR) industry in India is showing signs of recovery, with customers showing a gradual return to dining out in restaurants. It may still be some time before QSRs see full capacity again, but there are several ways they can leverage technology to attract customers and drive sales while ensuring a safe dining experience.
Many large QSR chains across India have taken steps toward integration of web and mobile technologies with on-site technologies like digital signage and digital menu boards to create a seamless ordering and service experience. McDonald’s India recently realised the need for an enhanced digital marketing strategy for growth, while Pizza Hut is investing 95% of its total marketing budget in digital. Domino’s now forecasts each outlet’s demands based on behaviour analysis, historical data, and AI, while KFC was among the first QSR chains in India to implement curbside order delivery and collection.
