Scala IC200 tells me that the Master Scala Key is required but not present. I have the key and it is on but it just won't work.
One of the following conditions is true:
(1) The IC200 Master Dongle is not connected to the printer port.
(2) The Printer port connector or the cable from the computer's
motherboard to the connector is loose or a "pin" in the connector is
pushed back.
(3) The HASP Dongle device driver in not installed.
(4) The HASP Dongle device driver is installed but the computer's
"Super I/O" chip has been configured by the "CMOS Setup" of the PC to
place the "Parallel Printer Port" into an incompatible state.
The solution to (1) and (2) can be found through visual inspection of
the dongle, the computer's printer port & pins, and possibly the
connecting cable between the printer port and the computer's
motherboard. These two topics account for approximately 75% of all
reports such as yours.
The solution to (3) is to install the HASP Dongle driver. This
installation is a part of the normal IC200 software install. The HASP
Dongle driver is also updated when Scala Service Packs are applied.
The current Service Pack is "SP7A" which can be downloaded from
http://www.scala.com. If you apply "SP7A" to your Master system you
must also apply SP7A to your "Player" system. Service Packs MUST
always be matched!
The solution to (4) is to enter the "CMOS Setup" of the
computer--usually be pressing the "[DEL]", "[ESC]", or "[F2]" keys
during the PowerOnSelfTest/MemoryTest phase of starting the computer.
There is often a text message on the screen indicating which key to
press for the "Setup" utility. The "Printer Port" should be
configured to be "Standard", "Normal", or "Bi-Directional". It should
never be configured as "Auto", "EPP", or "ECP".
