I have a production installer of InfoChannel Designer 3 that is earlier than Release 4, and can not install without removing my Designer 1

Starting with the production version of Release 4 Designer 3 will install without removing the original IC Designer. If you have a production installer of InfoChannel Designer 3 that is earlier than the Release 4 version you can do the following to allow both Designers to co-exist on the same system.

After installing ICD1, nuke this Registry key:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ScalaICDesigner

then ICD3 install will "not notice" ICD1.

You still have the problem that ICD3 will by default want to installing the same \Program Files\scala\ICDesigner folder where Designer 1 physically resides.

So do one of these two things:

- After installing ICD1 but before ICD3, rename ICDesigner folder to ICDesigner1. Adjust the paths in your icons.

- Choose a location other than :\Program Files\Scala for your Designer 3 install.
