Can I use the built-in Direct-FTP Server to publish from IC Designer 3 InfoChannel Network to a publish location on the Network Manager Server?

Yes you can use the built-in Direct-FTP for publishing from a remote IC Designer 3 to the Network Manager Server. This will eliminate the need for a 3rd party FTP Server such as IIS or Bullet Proof to be installed.

The Direct-FTP connection is done by using the IC3 Player login 'InfoChannel-Player', and writing to a publish location that the Direct-FTP Server can access. You first need to create the publish location folder. You can call the folder 'Publish' and place it in the following path:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Scala\Network Transmission\Receive\Files\Publish

On an EQUUS system the path would be:
F:\HOME\All Users\Documents\Scala\Network Transmission\Receive\Files\Publish

Set the following in Network Manager / Configure / Publish Locations

Connection type: Local or Shared Folder
Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Scala\Network Transmission\Receive\Files\Publish

On an EQUUS system the path would be:
F:\HOME\All Users\Documents\Scala\Network Transmission\Receive\Files\Publish

Set the following in Network Manager / Configure / System Settings

Network Manager's Host Address: {Network Host or IP Address}
Send and Receive Data via: Server Direct-FTP
Password: ******** {must enter a new password}

Set the following in IC Designer 3 Publish to InfoChannel Network set the following:

Publish To: FTP
FTP Folder:
    URL: {Network Host or IP Address}/Receive/Files/Publish
User Name: InfoChannel-Player
Password: ******** {must be the same as in Network Manager System Settings}

The Network Manager network engine must be running when publishing from IC Designer 3.
