EXTON, PA. April 24, 2007 - Scala, Inc., the world's leading provider of end-to-end digital signage software, today announced that Philip Morris Worldwide Duty Free has deployed a Scala InfoChannel network in Argentina's Ezeiza International Airport and Brazil's San Pablo Guarulhos Airport with Scala Certified Partner, OBVIO Digital Signage. More airports are planned including Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mexico DF, and Cancun, Mexico.
OBVIO is an advertisement and communication company located in Montevideo, Uruguay. OBVIO has been a Scala Certified Partner since 2005 working with major clients located in many Latin American countries including Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Panama, and the Caribbean.
OBVIO designed and installed, two different projects inside the departure Duty Free Shop at Ezeiza Airport in Argentina. One is a back-wall fixture with plasma display monitors, which combines the traditional backlight displays and dynamic digital signage technology. The other is a large plasma wall with frameless plasma screens. This video wall is the largest frameless plasma screen in Latin America. Both the video wall and back-wall fixture are used to display brand communications, price comparison information, and special promotions.
In the Guarulhos Airport in Brazil, OBVIO design and installed two different types of back-wall units for Philip Morris in the departure duty free shop. The screens in Brazil are used to promote similar messages as the signage in the Ezeiza airport.
OBVIO creates all of the scripts using Designer and distributes those scripts using Scala Network Manager to each of the digital signs in the airports around Latin America. Philip Morris is continuing to roll out digital signs in their duty free shops across Latin America.
As hundreds of thousands of people travel through duty free shops everyday, OBVIO offers Philip Morris a system that will increase the reach and the quality of their communication with high stability. OBVIO has been able to strategically manage the deployments in these airports and skilfully execute on Philip Morris's plan using Scala InfoChannel.
"When Philip Morris came to us with this project, we compared several types of digital signage software and finally decided to use Scala InfoChannel. After comparing Scala InfoChannel to the other digital signage software, our decision was easy to make because of the performance and stability of Scala InfoChannel," said Alejandro Pérez, Director, OBVIO Digital Signage.
OBVIO is an advertisement and communication company located in Montevideo, Uruguay. OBVIO started activities during 1985, offering creative solutions to clients' needs. In the year 2000, they started to work in other parts of the region, reaching more competitive markets and clients. By 2005, OBVIO became a Scala Certified Partner.
