June 4, 2009 – Scala Showcased at Computex Taipei
Scala software to power displays and media players throughout expo; executive to serve as keynote speaker of Digital Signage Forum
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Every year in early June, the world flocks to Taiwan
to learn about the latest amazing progress in the field of consumer
electronics. Computex Taipei (June 2-6), the largest computer expo in Asia, is where buyers and sellers meet to trade the
latest IT products. Every year, digital signage becomes an increasingly large
area of the show, and every year Scala is proud to participate in the show with
its esteemed partners.
In Hall 3 of the Taipei World Trade Center at Taiwan's largest screen manufacturer Chilin Technology's booth (G 248), visitors will be able to watch Scala systems powering a 4x thin-bezel 42" screen video wall along with a 120 Hz screen integrated with a Web camera running a basic movement detection trigger software developed by Scala.
At the Open Digital Signage Zone in Hall 1 (C724, 726) of the TWTC, Scala will be shown managing IAdea's media appliances playing on large displays made by leading display manufacturers around the world, including AUO, Mitsubishi, ViewSonic, Delta Electronics and Litemax. Of these, AUO, the world's leading LCD panel manufacturer, will showcase a 65" open-frame, high-brightness, thin-bezel public information display running an integrated IAdea player module with Scala software.
At AOpen's booth in the Digital Signage Pavilion (C704, C706), as well as in the permanent exposition in AOpen's Taipei HQ, visitors will be able to enjoy a sneak peek of the next release of Scala's digital signage software solution powering both Scala's standard PC-based optimized systems and low-TCO (total cost of ownership) media appliances developed in partnership with IAdea, Scala's first Certified Partner in Taiwan. Also, Scala will participate in AOpen's Digital Signage Forum held during Computex to talk and exchange views on the state of the worldwide market with other AOpen global partners and customers.
In the new TWTC Nangang exhibition hall, Scala is proud to be showcased on IBASE's latest digital signage engine, the SI-28, a small form factor and high-performance system, able to drive four Full HD HDMI displays especially designed with Scala in mind.
Finally, invited by IAdea's CEO John Wang, the Chair of the Standardization and Internationalization Committee of the Digital Signage SIG, Scala Asia Vice President, Guillaume Proux, will participate as the keynote speaker for the Digital Signage Forum held on June 4, 2009, in the Taipei World Trade Center, speaking about the open trends in the digital signage market.
With its local presence in Asia for over five years now, Scala is ready to support the next wave in digital signage technologies thanks to its broad support by screen manufacturers, peripheral makers, industrial PC and media appliance makers. It is now opening up new markets with local support for its SaaS (Software as a Service) product.
