Requirements for Windows 95 Machines.

Common Control Library Patch

Have At Least Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1.

All Windows 95 users that have not upgraded to Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 or higher must do so to run Scala iplay. It includes the required Common Control Library Patch (Comctl32.dll). Check and see which version of IE you have by opening it and selecting Help -> About from the menu. Upgrade if necessary.

Windows Media Player 6.4

Determine if Media Player is Installed.

First, check to see which Media Player is installed, if at all. Usually it is found under Accessories, Entertainment, or Audio in the Start Menu. If it is there, select the entry and then click on Help -> About.

How and Where to Upgrade.

If the version shown is lower than 6.4, not listed, or you couldn't find the program at all, then please download it from Microsoft's site or see our step-by-step instructions for installing it.

Some Windows 95 Users May Need the DCOM DLL.

Determine Which Version of 95 is Installed.

Click the Start button, then select Control Panel. Double-click the System icon and look at the top of the window that opens under the first tab. Check under that line to where it gives a version number.

"4.00.95" denotes Windows 95a; proceed with downloading and installing DCOM95 if you do not already have IE 5+.
"4.00.95b" denotes Windows 95b; proceed with downloading and installing DCOM95 if you do not already have IE 5+.
"4.00.95c" denotes Windows 95c; skip this step since it is already installed.

Windows 95a and 95b Need DCOM Version 1.3.

DirectX 3+

Determine if DirectX is on Your System.

If you are running Windows 95a or b, then you may need to install DirectX. The easiest way to see if you have it is by clicking on Start and then going to the Run command. Type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes) and hit OK. If the Diagnostic Tool appears, then you have it; look down to where it says Version Number and double check that it is 3 or higher. If you receive an error message, chances are that you don't have DirectX. Click here to download it from Microsoft's site or see our step-by-step instructions for installing it.

NOTE: Another way to get the above files is to upgrade via the complete install of Internet Explorer 5+; then you only need DirectX version 3 or higher.

The Scala Website requires that JavaScript (Active Scripting) be enabled.

Please go to Tools, Internet Options under the Menus. Select the Security Tab, then Custom Level button. Then click the Enable button under Scripting / Active Scripting. Hit OK, then OK again to exit requestors. You will know it's working when you see a "More" link in the links beneath the Tabs.

You can still use the website without changing this setting, but certain features will be disabled.
