Depending on which operating system you are running, you may or may not need additional third-party software to install prior to running Scala iplay.
Everything you need is already there; you're ready to download iplay now! If you would like, you can follow our step-by-step instructions for downloading and installation.
If you do not already have it, you will need Windows Media Player 6.4 for its MP3 codec. Please note that even if you have Media Player 7.0, you still need 6.4, because Microsoft removed this codec from later releases, although it was later integrated into the operating system itself with Win 98 SE and onward. Click here to find out what version of Media Player you have, and if you need to upgrade, where to get the file.
Requirements include Media Player 6.4, Direct X 3+, DCOM, and the Common Control Library Patch (available with Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 or later). Click here for a breakdown of what to get if you don't already have it and from where.
The only requirement for iplay is Service Pack 1. Upgrade if necessary from Windows Update. Then download iplay! If you would like, you can follow our step-by-step instructions for downloading and installation.
Scala requires at least Service Pack 3; afterwards you only need Windows Media Player 6.4. To find out which Service Pack and Media Player you have or how to upgrade, click here.
