I had a similar problem when an old script was run in a very fast machine.
It seemed that a previous wav file had not finished playing before the MPEG
started.
It crashed the sound on the MPEG everytime. (And sometimes stoped the video
as
well.)
If you have a wav playing before this, try extending the timing to make sure
the wav
will stop playing or create a 'stop sample' event before the MPEG plays.

Have also found this.
When a sound previously playing stops, the sound
of the Video clip also stops.
Dont know why!
I have added an infinite loop background sound to
the page that contains the clip and turn the
volume down so the sound is not hearable.
It seemed to solve my problem.

I too have had this problem, make sure you have
no other stop or fade sound commands nearby or
they will interfere. Try forcing the mixer back
up to maximum volume on a special event just
before your MPEG begins.
