So, we are trying to get an xml rss (not roland sound space:) feed displayed in the following way:
We want to get/pull the file (automation for this is working sweet already) on to the network manager machine and the distribute it to the players as content. So every time the xml file on the webserver gets updated, its is pulled (getfile) down to the network manager and then network manager distributes the xml (again triggered every time it changes to be redistributed) to all the players as CONTENT.
We distribute it as content instead of installing a file so that we can be sure the xml is never pulled/replaced from underneath while the players are displaying the data.
Now here is the real question:
How do I tell the vbs file to target the xml when as I upload it as content, the example.xml gets a new name as example;001.xml, the next time it is updated the file is example;002.xml and so on.
How do I target this?
were calling the file like this:
If rssFeed = "" Then
rssFeed = "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Scala\Content\example.xml"
End If
but this targets the exact file path and file example.xml
but as we get new files the right (latest) files are not pulled.
How do we target the vbscript to be able to read this most recent file?
Thanx a bunch for all your help!
Is it possible to pull dynamic data to Flash application and have it play on IC3? Are there any probems that I will encounter? Any workarounds?
