Ha Ha Ok I'm back! I have recently installed a scala system with a TV tuner ex to be able so show a tv feed during a scala script. it works fine except for the fact that the audio for the video feed is extrememly low, while any sound clips that are playing in scala are at normal volume.

Has anyone else encountered the problem of extremely low volume coming from the tv feed while it's playing in scala?

hey thanks, but unfortunetly for this, we want to stick with just scala software, no third party products. you see when we first started this project, we were told by our scala re-seller that it would be possible to do this using scala. however i think they were just talking out of their ass because they have not been able to give us any support in making this happen. ive tried on 3 occasions to get tech support directly from scala, but was told that our scala re-seller must provide the support which is impossible because they have no idea what they are doing . so i am left to coming here, which has provided me with a wealth of support for most of my questions. (thanks) unforunetly no one has really been able to help me with the channel change issue with any great success.

Man oh Man, ok all I have to do is figure this out and I can relax for a bit.

So here goes nothing. I have a net manager pc with designer, tv tuner ex and a tv tuner card(leadtek winfast tv2000 xp expert) on it in an office, i have a player pc with tv tuner ex and another tv tuner card on it(same tv tuner card as above) across the hall in a rack that also has a tv feed connected via RF from a vcr or satillite. both pc's are connected via LAN. My scenario is this, i want to be able set up a schedule were say 4-5 different channels are played throughout the day. ie from 9-11am it shows CITY-TV, from 11-1pm it will switch to and show FOX-News, from 1-3pm it switches to and shows CNN, etc. all the while this scala "special event" is playing over a script. Is this at all possible? and if so, how can i go about doing it?? And please, please don't refer me to the release notes!!! It's not in there.

Thanks!

Ha Ha Ha, thats hilarious!

Posted: Friday, 03/16/2007 -- by Anthony. Subject: release notes

Thanks for your quick responses guys. Unfortunetly neither response was very helpful. In regards to the release notes, I already new about the channel variable, and i changed the channel number from the "3" default to five or six different numbers ranging from "8" to "120" . The channel of the actual video feed did not change. ie the channel that it was showing was "Raptors TV", by changing the channel in the TV tuner EX menu made no difference, it was still on "Raptors TV".

In regards to what Marvin was saying about adding "RTFRN" to my interface and boxes...dude I have no idea what you're talking about. But thanks for the email that you sent in regards to the "webpage" in Scala.

You guys are still a lot of help! Thanks!!!

Me again! Ok so here's the deal. I'm using designer 3. I have 2 Pc's set up, the first is the Net Manager Pc, the other is the Net Player Pc. There is a LeadTek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert TV Tuner Card installed on each Pc. I also have the TV Tuner EX installed on both PC's. Everything is working fine, and I have a live feed pumping in. What I would like to know now is if it is possible to use Scala to change the channel of the feed being pumped in via scripting or any other commands that come with the basic Scala bundle without having to buy more accessories or using outside software.

Hi Marvin,

I would also like to get in on this. If you could email me when you have time at pro_fus@hotmail.com that would be greatly appreciated.

has anyone used the Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert tv tuner card in conjuction with the TV Tuner EX? Has there been any issues? Does it work fine? I am asking this because I added a tv clip into a presentation, followed the instructions to the T and get this error when i try to preview it.

Error: 304.7
Rendering graph for "TV Tuner"
DirectShow Error(80040217)
No combination of intermediate filters
could be found to make connection

Honestly this is really messing with me, I have had so many issues with just trying to get a simple video window with a tv feed into a scala presentation. Am I the only one experiencing these issues???

Posted: Friday, 03/02/2007 -- by Anthony. Subject: installing tv tuner EX walkthrough

I need to install the TV Tuner EX software, but there is no indication weather or not the software should be installed on the Net Player Computer or the Net Manager Computer. There is a disclaimer when you first start installing the software that that you can only install it on 1 PC, and that you will need another license to install it on another. The TV Tuner card is installed on the Net Player PC. I would assume that it would have to be installed on the computer that is running the designer software(Net Manager PC). Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Posted: Thursday, 02/22/2007 -- by Anthony. Subject: getting a live video feed into a Designer presentation

I'm trying to get a live tv feed to play inside of a Designer presentation. I saw a similar question posed in the discussion forums. The answer given was that you would need to use the TV Tuner EX. I went under Options in the Tools menu, and then under EXes, however TV Tuner EX was not an option listed in there. Is this something that must be downloaded/purchased seperately, or is it located in a different area in Designer?
