Hi,

I have finally solved (one of) my problem :

- Scala will terminate when inserting a CD, will do the copy on disk, and my batch file starts scala again at the end of the copy. That works pretty well. It shows windows's desktop during the copying process, that's not very nice, but at least it prevents from copy violation errors if the copiying process tries to overwrite a file that's beeing read by scala. So the "scala Terminate + copy + scala restart" process works fine now.

But I have discovered an other problem :

When I'm under scala, the 1st time when inserting the autorun CD, the autorun won't start even after inserting it 2 or 3 times. Just like if autorun was disabled. Then I :

- exit scala
- re-insert the CD a 4th time, there, autorun will finally start when I'm on my desktop.
- start scala again
- intert the CD again, and now it works under scala.

So for some reason, when under scala, it doesn't see that the CD has autorun the 1st time. You kinda have to activate it once manually. As I have 70 scala players, I'm not gonna play around doing this.

I have made 2 other tests. I :

TEST 1
- reboot the computer *WITH* the autorun CD inside the CD-ROM device
- Scala player starts, just normal.
- Then I eject the CDrom, and put it inside again, the autorun will work.

TEST 2
- I reboot the computer *WITHOUT* the autorun CD in the CDROM device
- scala starts, just normal.
- I put the autorun CD, it won't execute the autorun.

So it seems that for some reason, if you didn't boot with a CD in the computer, it won't see it until you quit scala. Just like if windows wouldn't check the CDrom under scala. What do you think ? Any suggestions ?

Hello,

I'm trying to insert an autorun cd-rom that starts a xcopy Dos command for copying video contents from the CD onto the hard disk. The problem is that scala IC200 minimizes when the autorun is launched and switches to the xcopy task. How can I do for having scala running, and xcopy working in the background ?

Also, I have experiment problems on some computers setup : When I insert the autorun CD, scala closes and shuts down Windows. What can I do against that ?

I'm running :
Windows 2000 Pro
Scala IC200 SP7b

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Alexandre CONRAD
