When I play a CD-ROM created in ICD1 in a WinXPPro laptop it starts to play for awhile then at an early screen once I hit a button it closes back to the desktop. It works fine in another XP set-up but different hardware configuration. What should I look for? Newer version of iPlay? The video and audio drivers are up to date. Any help would be appreciated.
On your web site you say:
"You can buy the downloadable version of iplay studio for $59 or the physical product (including box, manual and CD) for $79. The downloadable version is available free to qualifying students."
What makes a student qualify for the free download? Also, are there plans to release a new version? I am wondering because the program is listed under "legacy products" on the web site.
Thanks.
Actually, if you look at an archive of John Schillings responses over the years his responses are condescending and sarcastic the vast majority of the time. Very rarely will you get a straight answer, rather his own personal views on either your importance as a customer (or lack therof) or your foolishness in using certain system software or a hardware component. Even if a company, or representative of a company, feels a certain type of customer is of little importance to the bottom line, they rarely make it so obvious. I got a crazy idea John, how about mixing in a straight answer every now and again, instead of disguising it in bitter rhetoric.
I have to agree that the upgrade price seems a little steep, especially considering that for us CD publishers we instantly wipe out a good chunk of end users who don't have XP or 2000. Granted, 98 and ME are lousy but they are on the vast majority of computers now and it seems a little elitist to shut them out so soon since XP was only released a few months ago.I'm all for looking to the future, just don't ignore the past.
