With native 16:9 support and sizes up to 60", gas plasma screens are a great choice for flat panel displays when the cost of large LCDs or DLPs is too prohibitive. Most run at WVGA resolutions of either 848x480 or 852x480. Newer models also can handle WXGA at 1366x768. Don't be content with other applications that try to get by with stretching or shrinking video output to compensate. Graphics are one thing but showing people at these warped aspect ratios looks bad. Don't spend thousands on a hi-tech display only to skimp on playback! Luckily, Scala InfoChannel can handle any resolution that your computer's video card can. Contact us today and we can put you in touch with a reseller to let you take full advantage of the latest in scheduling content for networked PDPs.
LCDs have come a long way in the past few years, and a long way down in price. Monitors in sizes of 15" and 17" are now commonplace in the industry and still look great for corporate communications, conference meeting room signage, elevators, and touchscreen kiosks. As most still have 4:3 aspect ratios, they are a natural choice for Scala InfoChannel when space is at a premium with minimal effort. A few recent advances have pushed the bar up to as high as 40", and with a longer life than plasma, they will continue to be a good bet for the long-term investor.
LEDs are not just for scrolling red text anymore. With a wide variety of custom displays available, InfoChannel's graphical flexibility is uniquely positioned to be the scheduling and playback software of choice for these larger than life billboards. As Scala software can interface with nearly any resolution supported by a PC video card, InfoChannel has come to the rescue of a few customers when they could not get their home-built solution to work with their custom-developed hardware. LEDs come in all shapes and sizes, and it's no wonder that the 85'x6' Hollywood & Highland Zipper running at almost 2800x200 chose InfoChannel to display Academy Award winners in real-time at the Kodak Theater.
Even with all of the new technologies available, most large deployments using InfoChannel still rely on the most widely available... their existing infrastructure of televisions. And while their form factor and resolution may no longer impress any crowds, being able to show scheduled video and real-time information in a network certainly does. After all, it is and always will be the content that makes or breaks a visual communications network. That is why Scala software is running in multiple companies that each have over 1,000 TVs networked together. Only have one message to get across? InfoChannel output is also perfect for RF distribution for showing the same content in dozens or hundreds of televisions in a single building.
Should even flat panel monitors be too obtrusive, or still not big enough, projectors can fill virtually any space with Scala InfoChannel's rich-media content. A favorite of cinemas and museums for advertising and exhibits, new digital projectors have made ancient film reels and slide projectors nothing but a distant memory. Many consumer-grade models start at SVGA (800x600) or XGA (1024x768) resolutions now for under $2000, but others do exist that have been designed specifically for showing HDTV and 16:9 content. Whatever your choice, InfoChannel can adapt to fit your needs.
Many people have already seen Scala software running and do not even realize it. For years, InfoChannel has been the secret of both cable advertisers and public access television producers. Savvy cable operators have made millions of dollars with InfoChannel by marketing real estate, cars, and other auction items for sale on television. With the same Scala software, school districts and municipal governments have gotten their message out to the community through event calendars, up-next spots, and emergency weather-related messaging. It can do the same for you.
