Anyone out there know how to export an MPEG file from Final Cut Pro that will play in Infochannel Designer 3?
The WinDVD3 MPEG-2 CODEC included with IC3 runs fine with a wide variety of MPEG-2 files/parameters--but it would be most happy with standard NTSC "MP@ML" streams.

I too have tried everything I know to get scala to playback a FC exported mpg file, no luck. I have tried Cleaner for the MAC too. I have to tranfer the QT file to a PC and then make it a mpg file, in order for scala to recognize it.
I have been able to get Cleaner 6 for OS X to export MPEG2 program streams that work. Make sure you are using MPEG2 program stream under the MPEG2 tab. Might also want to make sure that the filetype is .mpg. I have had files where I needed to append the extension for them to work.
On another note, I am using the WinDVD codec to playback video, but it has some weird strobing when seen over the air. It previews fine on the monitor. We are using a retro setup, and I do not think there is a scan converter. It is a VGA out that goes to a preview monitor, but there is also a RCA video out that looks like it has been split from that connector.
Think I should try and connect a scan converter? Get new video card? Replace the whole kit?
Ok, I looked and I do have a Coriogen Eclipse scan converter. It is the internal version that does not technically connect to the computer, so it was not in the device manager.
I looked at the settings and everything looked as good as possible. I turned the flicker control down and there was a lot more flicker in the areas I normally see it. Anyone know of a way to reduce flicker even when you have flicker control maxed?
Hi
Regarding with this topic I would like to ask you some things about video compressing.
I've received a DVD from a customer and the different chapters need to be converted onto mpeg files. The original videos have very good quality.
I have this basic application to do it "DVDx 1.6 : DVD to VCD/SCVD/AVI".
I've made some testings. The input settings said that the original video was captured at 720x480 29.97 Hz so I tried to do it at 720 x 480 MPG1 (Video rate set at 1550 Kbit/s I've been told that MPG2 must be set at 2376 K/bts )too and then I tried at 352 x 240 in order to make it a little more smaller, but i noticed that differences between them aren't too notorious.
Also if anybody knows what is the best Resizing filter of this list I'd appreciate your oppinion

The author's said that generally the best is Bicubic but I would like to know your opinion and experiences.
Thanks in advance!!
