Hi I have a client that is an Auctioneer and wants to know if there is a way of updating the current bid price over the picture of the lot being displayed. ie he has a 50" plasma behind him showing the property for auction and wants to display the bids. how can this be done if at all.

Hi Glen
Your e.mail address is wrong!!
What ICD version are you using currently?
I think that you can make a script that: (ICD1)
1. Create Standalone presentation with a menu that have little thumbnails of the goods for the auction previously charged
2. Then the auctioneer must choose the picture desired when the auction starts and this should perform a little loop where the picture is shown repeatedly in the screen during two seconds periods using a CUT wipe until an "exit" or "go to menu" button be clicked. The Pictures page should contain a "!line" variable taht open and reads a .TXT file contents
That way,.... by using a second PC connected by LAN or directly by point to point (single UTP wire) with the player,.... an assitant create a .txt file with the most recent bid and save it into the data directory of the Slideshow Player.
The loop will read the first line of the auction01.txt file and will show the Picture with the latest value
I think this is just a general idea that will help you to do it
I hope it helps.....if you need more drop me an email
Regards
Julian
