error codes

Posted: Tuesday, 04/06/2004 -- by gr. Subject: error codes

Is there a list of error codes anywhere?

At the moment I am getting error code 48 - what does it mean?

Doesn't it seem ridiculous to have the system post error codes yet Scala does not provide and explanation of what the error code numbers mean?

Hi,

to help you further please tell me which Scala product you're using and what your current Release is.

I've asked myself and tech support that very question numerous time.

Why can't Scala publish the error codes and their meaning.

(or are we just looking at a Random Number Generator ??)

I am getting the following error codes from a couple players. error 108.1 this pertains to script not playing correctly. (I guess)
and 157.53 which again I guess indicates the player went down, It did not in fact and is playing fine however I don't have any idea as to what a 157.53 or 108.1 is due to the fact Scala does not publish error code information.
Not good support. My only choice is to clear the codes and cross the fingers.

Here is some help in case you get this one. I recieved this error code when I activated billing. What this pertains to is the failure of the system to find the folder on the network manager.
The convention being this - Scala/Network/transmission/Receive/Billing
also
scala/Network/transmission/Receive/Billing/(playername)
I manually created the folders and now the error is gone and billing is working - so 183.48 means "path not found"

Hi Norm,

In the network manager please use the "Show Details" at the top of the page in "Health Monitoring".

You should now see a "USER:" section in the message.

An error number (like a number for missing content) doesn't help if you don't know what content is missing.
That's why you should look at the USER: information.

There's also a TECH: section wich contains a more technical description of the problem.

PS: The Player log file has the same setup.

Hi

Some days ago we changed our hosting service. Unfortunenately we haven't be able to restart our usual communications with our remote player. The FTP users and the NM folders were created with full access Read/Write/Modify permissions but we are receiving continuesly this message in red letters.

Any help please??? Julian

Use command line ftp and attempt the exact same operations as is NM3:

E.g.

ftp infoplasma.net
login: username
password: password
cd nm_trans
mkdir Receive

I would suspect that you are not able to create the directory "Receive". If this is the case, contact your system administrator and fix the permissions.

Posted: Tuesday, 11/29/2005 -- by Julian. Subject: Receive folder created

Hi John

Thanks for your assistance!!!

We did what you said. We used FTP command line and everything worked fine. Here are the results. But we don't know what's going wrong

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador>ftp ftp.infoplasma.net
Conectado a ftp.infoplasma.net.
220 Gene6 FTP Server v3.0.2 (Build 39) ready...
Usuario (ftp.infoplasma.net:(none)): nmanager
331 Password required for nmanager.
Contrase±a:
230 User nmanager logged in.
ftp> cd nm_trans
250 CWD command successful. "/nm_trans" is current directory.
ftp> mkdir Receive
257 "/nm_trans/Receive": directory created.
ftp> mkdir receive
550 "receive": file or directory already exists.
ftp> quit
221 Goodbye.

NM tries to make a directory that made previously. It's so strange. We are getting mad with this. We've tested everything. And the same red texts continue appearing.

Thank you!!
