Folks,
We are proposing a corporate tv network uses Scala, and looking for a way to distribute the RGB/VGA signal from Scala Player.
The display will uses Plasma, thus we trying to distribute the VGA output from Scala Player to the plasma's directly rather than channels it through RF modulator via scan converter that will obviously lower the resolution down.
We will have about 16 plasma's in each floor of a 16 storey office building and only one Scala player, thus cable length and signal strength are a ciritical factor.
Any idea on how can we distribute the WXGA signal + stereo audio for this application?
Any input appreciated.
Regards,
Bona
Bona,
We have been very happy with Hall Research Technologies' solution.
Here is a link to an overview:

Here are product specifics:

I do know that there are some other companies in that game.

Hi Dave,
Thanks! This is what I'm looking for.
We were actually considering fiber optic VGA + audio distribution system, and with the price of fiber optic cable that considerably low at present the fiber optic distribution system looks to be a viable solution as well price wise.
Do you have retail price info of the mentioned products? Need to do some quick calculation on the implementation cost.
Thanks again!
Bona
Dear Dave,
Opps, the price is in their web site...
Thansk!
Bona
Hi Bona,
You should also check with Extron (www.extron.com) or with their system integrators.
They have a full product line of distribution amps, transmitter/receiver for STP/UTP cables etc, and many other very cool things for scala production (seamless switchers inserters video processors for signals ranging from composite up to RGBHV USXGA+)
For prices you will also have to contact them.
Regards,
Vladimir Zecevic
