Anyone has an idea what the is use of screen count in the player setting at content manager? was that for us to do inventory on how many screen the player is connected to ?
Hi Christopher,
Not sure what you mean by 'screen count'. But on the Player Properties page in CM, there is a setting for "Number of Displays". This basically means how many of the VGA outputs on your Player PC are you using.
IC5 allows you to use a dual VGA PC to 'display' independent content sets (Channels) on each VGA output. You can still just use one of the VGA outputs if you like.
Using both outputs requires you to have a second monitor, change the PC's screen settings to dual output, and in the Player configuration you need to set it to two outputs.
Depending on how you look at it, this new feature basically doubles your Player licenses and/or cuts your hardware and software costs in half.
Enjoy
Hi Tim,
Eugene asked the original question, and not myself. I am not affiliated with Eugene. I believe what Eugene is referring to is not what you stated about.
In ICM5, under Players, there is an option for how many displays that are connected to a Player (what you described and we all know about); however, immediately next to that is a box with the label "Screen Count"...where one can input any number into it and save it.
