Show time - hours and minuets

Tuesday, 03/13/2007 -- by Meik. Subject: Show time - hours and minuets

I need to show the current time, I know !time but I only want to show hours and minuets - is it possible to alter the!time command? Or do I need a vb script? And if so where can I find it?

I hope some one can answer this.

Use the settings of the Infochannel Player configuration tool to set time to the way you want. You cannot do this from Designer.

But isnīt it possible to control this from designer or content manager?

i want to have remote control over the display of time...

Not straight from CM of Designer, you have edit the script to format the time and date the way you want to. Sorry, that's all I know.

In order to display a "Minuet"--it think that we will need an orchestra, some dancers, and a video camera...

The display FORMAT of HH:MM is controlled by the Playback device as set in its IC-Config tool--the underlying "Config\*.SCA file could be remotely updated via a NM3/CM5 "Send File Job". When you are using Scala variables like !TIME. You can always read the appropriate system/internal to Scala variables and stuff string variables with the appropriate characters and then display the resulting strings formatted any way you wish. [ScalaScript is a rich programming language--anything you can do in most other scripting/programming languages can in fact be done in Scala Script.

Add a special event and set the variable timeformat=1 (or 2,3 etc.)
From than on, player will use this setting.
You can do the same for dateformat (also an internal variable)

!(Left(TIME,5))

Good solution, but then your script would get a bit less readable, so I mostly like to set it right in de player or from one page in the script.
