Scala onto a DVD

Monday, 06/11/2007 -- by Kelly Adams. Subject: Scala onto a DVD

I am trying to put some scala files onto a DVD, but I am using iDVD on a mac transferring the scala files from a PC. The problem I am having is that iDVD only wants .mov type files i think... so it won't take the scala files as "movies" is there a converter software I need? any suggestions?

Are you attempting to make a "Video DVD"--or are you attempting to simply transfer the Scripts and Media as _Content_ or Data for someone else with a Scala product to use in building/revising scripts?

the goal is to make a DVD that plays when put into a DVD player to show to prospects what scala can do. (advertising our ad space to clients) So it won't be for editing, just for watching.

There are several methods can could be employed--however given the nature of how you ask the question--my advise to you would be to:

(1) Connect the Scala Player to a "VGA to NTSC Scan Converter",

(2) Then either video tape the output--and distribute the VHS tapes.

or

(3) Have a system with TV-Capture capability--PC or Mac/either directly connected to the Player's Scan Converter or just running off of the Video Tape--make the MPEG-2 streams that you will need in order to author a Video DVD.
