Scala IC5 Content Manager

Sunday, 04/01/2007 -- by Martin Schilder. Subject: Scala IC5 Content Manager

Hello,

We have the following situation, We have Scala IC5 ContentManager running. Our player loads the data direcly from the contentmanager.
On the player there is a Kramer videoswitch installed with 4 video sources which we can modify over rs232. When i create a complete script by the designer with all the exact times when to switch a videosource everything workes oke. But when i add a message which is created by a template and add it online to the playlist the rs232 commands doesnt work anymore. Anybody a idea what can cause this and if somebody had allready a similar problem does anybody know a workaround?

Thanks.

BR

Martin

Have you tried the following steps? (Please note if rs232 works after each step)

- Remove message
- Add a single page (not from template) that shows 10 sec.
- Add logs to your pages to see if the play or not.

Other questions:

- What kind of duration does the message have?
- Have you checked the logging for errors?

My first thought is that it has something to do with the exact-scheduling. It doesn't seem like a likely bug for Scala, because scheduling is well thought of and probably 90% copied from IC3, but anything is possible these days... ;o)

Nope, just by mail (you have it) but preferably via this forum , so other people can make use of any tips/tricks/workarounds we find.
And just as John, I'm not paid to do this, so I like to plan my own time for this forum.
