Hi,
I have a strange problem with the Scala Designer 3 :
When a page is being edited, sometimes the edited text does not appear in the main editing screen, but once closed, in the thumbnail section the edited text is visible, this also happens when a piece of text is deleted or overwrited by other text, in the main screen it looks ok but in the thumbnail section the deleted text is not deleted and visible and also the new text is visible and is mixed with the deleted text. When i open it for editing all seems OK. When i save the project, close Scala, then start Scala again, open the project, and then again go edit that strange page, the faulty text is visible and then can be deleted or being edited, then it is OK.
But when i do not restart scala and i publish the project, the error is also shown on the player ! while in the editing screen the error is not visible.
So Scala doesn't delete the text i want, but it just mixes it with new text, but it doesn't show that in the editing screen.
This problem occured when i installed brandnew computers.
Below i writed down the specs of the designer pc, that is, what i am sure of, where the problem lies.
Specs of designer pc :
Asus P5B Motherboard
Intel Core2Duo 3.0 Ghz
2048 MB DDR2 800 Mhz Kingston RAM
320 GB Hitachi SATA Harddisk
Asus EAX1550 256 MB PCI-Express videocard
NEC 16x DVD Player
NEC Floppydrive
Office 2007 Basic
Windows XP Professional including all updates
LG 19" Widescreen TFT (using 1440x900 pixels resolution)
Does anybody know a possible solution for this very strange problem ?
Many thanks in advance !
Kind regards,
Frank Mazzone
I had same problem. Mostly when I had open few application in same time - IC3 and Photoshop or when I worked in large script.
I dont have final solution but every time when I made changes in text I saved script, after few changes I restart IC3

Q.com
The current release of the product is 7.5.11.
Your IC3D Release is? [Tools/Options]
I am assuming that you have an ATi RADEON X1550 graphics card. Such a card on a machine with a 3.0 GHz Core2Duo CPU is like installing the transmission for a *Trabant* or a *Lada* into a "Mercedes-Benz SLK McLearen ".
While stable--this is a total mis-match of hardware.

Hi John,
OK, i thought that the videocard was not that important because there are no heavy 3D applications that scala uses.
But what videocard would you recommend ?
By the way : the Scala version is 7.5
Regards,
Frank
If you are running 7.5.<nothing> you really should update. [current release is 7.5.11]
The X1550 is a 64-bit card.
You would be better served with at least a 128-bit card. [HD2600PRO or Gf8600]
[If you are doing single-out HD work, ATi is the better option. If you are doing Dual-Output stuff--the nV card is the better selection]
With this level of CPU/Motherboard/RAM--a HD2900 or Gf8800 w/512MB would not be unreasonable to match the rest of the system.
