Hello. I want to make sure of something. I am currently making a decision between the purchase of IC3+player or IC5+player. this is a pretty simple integration, as simple as you can imagine with a little scheduling thrown into the mix.
I am guessing I only need designer and player, correct? must i purchase net manager for the integration outlined above?
also, is there any argument for taking IC3 over IC5? IC5 is roughly $300 cheaper through my var.
Thanks.
For just one player I wouldn't bother using NM, but if you want some invisible (for the viewers) maintenance it could be handy.
The choice of IC3 or IC5 depends on what you want to do on screen. Personally I´d go for IC5, it is much more advanced and if it´s cheaper, that makes it an ever better choice!
invisible won't be necessary... I'll just go with one instance of Designer and Player. Thanks for your help Marvin!
I'm told by my var, "Content Manager must be included or hosted."
is this true? if so, it makes the total software package cost over $8500! please tell me i'm not forced to buy Content Manager.
thanks.
InfoChannel3: Designer + NetManager + Player
InfoChannel5: Content Manager + Player. [*Designer* is optional if all you want to do is Play video files on a Player]
This is our product. It works the way we designed it.

As I said earlier, i't all depends on what you need to do. If IC3 Player can do it, go for it! If all that changes is the content, have someone design the script for you (.sca) and make sure all references to files are based on the contents of a text file. This way you don't need designer yourself, just try to get your hands on a playerdongle. This would be a typical Dutch (cheapish) solution ;o)
