.mov files not playing on scala

Tuesday, 07/31/2007 -- by Kelly Adams. Subject: .mov files not playing on scala

says the format of the file is not recognized...
how do i get my quicktime movie that i created in after effects to play on scala?

Tuesday, 07/31/2007 -- by John Schilling. Subject: You don't. You convert the movie to a supported video format.

MPEG-2 or WMV9 are your two best options.

im new at this, how am i converting the .mov file to a mpeg or wmv. im working from mac to pc

You should be able to change your export settings in After Effects however older versions may not have what you need. In that case I use Sorenson Squeeze, however, it is a little pricey. You can also check out Mpeg Streamclip by Squared 5 (free for both PC, Mac) but you will need the $20 Quicktime Mpeg playback component if you do not have Quicktime Pro . I would also suggest Mac Worlds Website to see what other free programs are out there to do a Quicktime to Mpeg conversion.
